The Rebecca Vassie Trust was set up in 2015 following the tragic death of photographer and photojournalist Rebecca Vassie, aged 30, while on assignment in Uganda. Through the annual Rebecca Vassie Memorial Award, the Trust aims to support up-and-coming British photographers drawn to the human stories we often don’t see.
Our 2016 award went to James Arthur Allen for his project documenting the lives of the ancient Circassian people living in North East Israel. Photographs will be available to view and purchase later this year.
Details of our 2017 award will be posted in June.
